Malpractice Insurance Policy

The School shall procure and maintain, at its sole expense, commercial general liability insurance and Educator’s Legal Liability coverage with a New York State authorized insurer covering the School, its employees, appointees and staff. Such commercial general liability insurance policy shall list North Shore-LIJ Health System, Inc., its affiliates, hospitals, subsidiaries, employees, trustees, directors’ and officers’ as additional insureds. School shall also maintain workers’ compensation and disability coverage as required by law with respect to its own employees, In the event of the termination of this agreement, a “tail” or extended reporting period will be provided to North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System. The policy shall also provide for 30 days notice of cancellation and/or non-renewal to North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System, Attention: General Counsel. The policy shall also provide for 30 days notice of cancellation and/or non-renewal to Hofstra University, Attention: General Counsel. In addition, the School shall ensure that all Participants maintain medical insurance covering injuries or illnesses that occur during the period of their participation in the Programs(s).
