To obtain an application, please visit http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas/start.htm. AMCAS staff can also be reached by e-mail at amcas@aamc.org or by calling 202-282-0600.

One complete set of transcripts must be submitted to AMCAS.  AMCAS coordinates the verification and distribution of applications to the medical schools which students are applying. Please do not send official or unofficial transcripts directly to the School of Medicine.

After applying through AMCAS, you will be notified via email of the School's receipt of a verified application. Please verify that your email security settings allow emails from medicine.admissions@hofstra.edu.

  • A complete AMCAS Application, including Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) scores (new MCAT exam only) and official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended.
  • A premedical committee report (packet). If your school does not have a premedical committee or a considerable amount of time has past since graduation, you may submit three individual letters of recommendation: two letters from individual professors (at least one in science) and one letter from a non-academic (included with the AMCAS application). Applicants may submit more than three letters of recommendation, but it is highly recommended that additional letters be submitted through AMCAS.
  • A completed Supplemental Application (see information below), which includes a $100.00 fee. If the applicant is eligible for fee assistance through the Association of American Medical Colleges Fee Assistance Program (AAMC FAP), the supplemental application fee will be waived.
