Applicants interested in applying to our MD/PhD program should apply through AMCAS and select MD/PhD as their program type. Applicants can obtain an application via the web at: http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas/start.htm. AMCAS can also be reached by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone at (202) 282-0600.
Only one set of transcripts needs to be submitted to AMCAS, who will coordinate the verification and distribution of your application to the medical schools to which you are applying. Please do not send official or unofficial transcripts directly to the School of Medicine.
After applying through AMCAS, you will be notified via email of the School's receipt of a verified application. Please verify that your email security settings allow emails from email@example.com.
Application materials include:
- A complete AMCAS Application, including: Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) scores not older than three years at the time of application and official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended.
- A premedical committee report. If your school does not have a premedical committee, you may submit three individual letters of recommendation: two letters from individual professors (at least one in science) and one letter from a non-academic (included with the AMCAS application). Applicants may submit more than three letters of recommendation, but it is highly recommended that additional letters be submitted through AMCAS.
- A completed Supplemental Application.
- A $100.00 supplemental application fee. If you are eligible for fee assistance through the Association of American Medical Colleges Fee Assistance Program (AAMC FAP), your supplemental application fee will be waived.
After applicants have their submitted supplemental application and three letters or a committee packet, their application will be reviewed. We review applications from September through January. Interview invites will be sent through January. Other status updates will be sent throughout the application season. No status updates will be given over the phone.
Although competitive applicants should have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and MCAT score of 25 (on the 2014 exam or earlier) or a composite MCAT score falling within or above the 50th percentile on the new 2015 MCAT exam, non-traditional applicants with extraordinary undergraduate or post-graduate experience, especially in a scientific and/or clinical setting, may request a supplemental application by clicking on the following link and completing the form.
We will not issue a supplemental application until we have received your completed application materials. Upon submitting your request, please allow up to two weeks to receive the supplemental application via email. Please note that our average MCAT score is 33, and our average cumulative undergraduate GPA is 3.60.
The deadline to submit your supplemental application is December 1. Extensions will not be granted. It is your responsibility to request the supplemental application if you have not received one.
