PHD Program Admissions Home

Application Requirements

All applicants must complete a bachelor-level degree prior to matriculation into the PhD program. While there are no requirements for completion of specific courses, competitive applicants generally have research experience.

Recommended, but not required, course work includes:

  • One year of college biology with lab
  • Chemistry and organic chemistry
  • One year of college physics
  • English literature or equivalent, including writing

Application materials to be uploaded to the online application system include:

  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended
  • MCAT or GRE scores, not older than three years at the time of application
  • TOEFL score, if appropriate, not older than three years at the time of application
  • Two letters of reference; at least one from a science professor or supervisor of a research project
  • An essay outlining your previous research experience
