Dr. Stanley Katz
Stanley Katz, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Cape Town Medical School in South Africa and was trained in Cardiology at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. Upon completion of his training in 1978 he joined the faculty of Long Island Jewish Medical Center. From 1982 to 1991 he was Director of the Catheterization Lab at Winthrop University Hospital. He joined Northwell Health in 1991 as Chief of Cardiology and Director of the Catheterization Lab. His field of expertise is interventional cardiology with a special interest in acute myocardial infarction intervention.
Dr. Katz is a Diplomat on the American Board of Internal Medicine and is board certified by the Subspecialty Board in Cardiovascular Disease and the Subspecialty Board in Interventional Cardiology. He is a Professor of Medicine at NYU, Senior Vice-President of Cardiac Services for Northwell Health, Chairman of the Department of Cardiology, a vice-president of the International College of Angiology and serves on the New York State Cardiac Advisory Committee. Dr. Katz is also a member of the American Heart Association and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Katz has served as an editorial consultant and authored or co-authored more than 50 articles.
