Adiel Fleischer, M.D.
Dr. Adiel Fleischer is Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine. In this role, Dr. Fleischer oversees all clinical and academic activity for both obstetrics and gynecology at all hospitals of Northwell Health. This supervision includes all obstetrical and Maternal Fetal Medicine services for one of the largest obstetrical services in the stateand all gynecologic services, including specialty services such as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, and Pediatric Gynecology. In addition. Dr. Fleischer is involved in the development of women’s health services, including those at the Katz Women’s Hospitals. He has been Chairman of the department since 2009.
Dr. Fleischer serves as Chair of the Perinatal Safety task force for Northwell Health and is a member of the New York State Committee on Maternal MortalityTask Force and the state’s Perinatal Task Forcefor reducing the incidence of iatrogenic prematurity. He has lead national committees on Maternal Mortality, as well as developed and implemented several regional initiatives on patent safety. He oversees the continued NYS designations for North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center as Regional Perinatal Centers, in addition to overseeing the quality of obstetrical and gynecologic care provided at all affiliated institutions. He is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine.
Dr. Fleischer is the author of numerous publications relating to improvements in perinatal care and safety. He has been recognized both regionally and nationally as one of the best clinicians in maternal-fetal medicine.
