Laboratory medicine and pathology provide comprehensive testing and services such as blood banks, phlebotomy, clinical microscopy, coagulation, immunology, infectious disease, microbiology, cytogenetics, cytology, surgical pathology, nuclear medicine and PAP smear screenings.
We provide comprehensive laboratory services for patients in the Northwell Health hospitals, from private physician offices, group practices, dialysis centers, and nursing homes. The Laboratory is approved by the State of New York Department of Health and accredited by The College of American Pathologists to perform testing in Clinical Chemistry, Endocrinology, Blood Lead Toxicology, Therapeutic Substance Monitoring, Comprehensive Hematology, Diagnostic Immunology, Urinalysis, Urine Pregnancy, Bacteriology, Mycobacteriology, Parasitology, Mycology, Virology (Direct Detection), Oncology (Sera and Soluble Tumor Markers), Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Molecular Diagnostics.
The laboratory facility operates with state-of-the-art, robotic instrumentation and methods. The design of the facility has attracted visitors from around the world. In addition to the highly automated routine testing capabilities, the laboratory provides an extensive menu of specialized testing.
