Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine hosts the Northeast Group on Educational Affairs

NEGEA 2018 ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The NEGEA is one of four regional groups of the AAMC's Group on Educational Affairs (GEA). The purpose of the NEGEA is to promote excellence in the education of medical students, residents, and physicians through the professional development of medical educators.

NEGEA regional conferences provide a forum for exchanging ideas, learning new strategies, and developing plans that may facilitate your own work and implementation of the NEGEA mission.

NEGEA 2018 Conference Theme: Emerging Issues in Medical Education

Overall Conference Learning objectives

At the end of the conference, participants will be able to:

  • Describe means to enhance equity, diversity, and inclusion in academic medicine
  • Reflect on the potential of narrative inquiry to facilitate understanding of patients and providers
  • Examine the current state of competency-based medical education
  • Describe educational research and innovations currently occurring across the continuum of medical education
  • Develop strategies for implementing educational innovations at one's own institution
  • Identify further opportunities for collaboration, networking and professional relationships
