Disbursement

Requirements

Students may be required to provide additional documentation to the Office of Student Finance, such as proof of U.S. citizenship, tax returns, etc., if data or other information was not verified by the U.S. Department of Education upon initial FAFSA submission. This requirement must be cleared prior to receiving federal student loans. If you encounter any outstanding requirements on the Hofstra portal, please contact the Office of Student Finance at the Zucker School of Medicine for further assistance.

Scholarships will automatically disburse to your Hofstra account according to the disbursement schedule below.

Step 1:  Accept the loan by logging in to the Hofstra Portal.

Step 2: Complete the North Shore-LIJ Health Loan promissory note and entrance counseling at ECSI, the school's loan servicer. ECSI will send instructions to your Hofstra Pride email account approximately 24-48 hours after loan acceptance.  You must complete a new promissory note each year that you borrow the North Shore-LIJ Health loan.
