ZSOM Graduating Class Year:
2016

Tell us about yourself and where you are now:
I am a board-certified medical and cosmetic dermatologist. I completed my residency training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Cornell Medical College in NYC. I recently opened my own direct pay dermatology practice in the amazing neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I am enjoying practicing dermatology on my own terms and am loving the entrepreneurial side of practice ownership!

Fun fact about you:
I am a huge foodie and I plan the day, vacations, and general life around great meals.

What was your favorite class, who was your favorite professor, or what is your fondest memory of the Zucker School of Medicine?
My fondest memory is matriculating as the inaugural class in 2011 and experiencing the school and all it had to offer with my small cohort of 40 classmates. Paving the way was a one-of-a-kind experience :)

What's the most valuable thing you learned during your time at the Zucker School of Medicine, and how has that helped you in your career?
Change is a good thing! I appreciated the progressive approach to education at Zucker and the idea that things don't have to be a certain way just because they have historically been that way. The same ideology infused the way I built my practice - its a progressive and innovative approach to healthcare delivery that prioritizes patients as well as high quality, evidence-based, ethical care.

What advice would you share with current Zucker SOM students?
It's never too early or too late to change the direction of your career. When you are in practice, you can tailor your career to whatever suits you best - there are so many options, whether it be clinical care, teaching/mentoring, consulting/advising, entrepreneurship, administration or all of the above! The sky is the limit and you can always change your focus

Where do you draw inspiration from?
My circle! Whether it's family, friends, my community, the people I surround myself with are a big source of inspiration. Seeing other successful female physicians has always been very inspiring to me too.

What's the accomplishment you are most proud of since graduating from the Zucker School of Medicine?
Becoming a mother :) as well as opening my practice (my other baby).
