Department of Neurology

The mission of the Department of Neurology is to be a regional destination center for all neurological care, deliver world-class patient care, lead the way for innovation and cutting-edge research to treat and uncover the causes of neurological disorders, and provide the best possible educational experience to our students and trainees.

Our department is made up of fellowship-trained and compassionate neurologists who are committed to using a multidisciplinary patient-centric approach as a strategy to diagnose, manage complex neurological conditions, and promote excellence in care and patient safety. Our Level 4 Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and Joint Commission-accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center are among the most recognized centers in the Northeast for providing the highest quality epilepsy and stroke care. Our faculty specialists also provide exceptional care for people with autoimmune brain disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, movement disorders, headache, intractable pain, and general neurology.

The Department of Neurology has active clinical research programs in stroke, migraine, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and autoimmune brain disorders. Furthermore, researchers at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research are conducting groundbreaking research on the pathophysiology and treatment of various brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, and brain tumors.
