Happy Holidays from Dean Battinelli
Season’s Greetings,
As I reflect on the past year, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the remarkable accomplishments of our students, faculty, and staff, who have made 2024 an outstanding year. We are also deeply grateful for our generous donors whose support is essential to our mission and enables our students to thrive and succeed. We thank you for your continued partnership.
This year has been one of notable achievements, highlighted by our national recognition as a top medical school for research by U.S. News & World Report. We have celebrated numerous milestones, from student-led initiatives like the inaugural Medical Innovation Symposium and the NY Ultrasound Olympics, to our tenth annual Match Day with a 100% match rate. We were also honored to have AAMC President Dr. David J. Skorton deliver our commencement address and celebrate with our graduates.
Among these highlights, we were proud to mark 15 years of our Medical Scholars Pipeline Program, and we welcomed a new cohort of medical students. We celebrated their transformation into medical professionals at October's White Coat Ceremony and look forward to their future contributions to medicine and healthcare.
These milestones and accomplishments are a testament to our community’s dedication and collaborative spirit. It is a privilege to serve as your dean and share in these achievements, anticipating the exciting possibilities that the new year holds. On behalf of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, I wish you a happy and healthy holiday season and a fulfilling new year!
