Say Hello to Valencia Saint-Louis, Assistant Program Coordinator for Pipeline Programs
Tell us a little about yourself...elevator pitch style!
I'm originally from Long Island and attended school here. I'm a very creative person who is passionate about wellness and helping people! I am a co-founder and one of the creatives behind The Embracing Layers Network. I'm also a certified women's wellness coach. My friends would tell you I'm a bit of a busy bee. I always have a project I'm enjoying or an event I'm going to! At the same time, I always make time for some rest and relaxation.
Fun Fact Unique To You
I am a "connector." I enjoy connecting people with other people and any resources that could help them grow or enjoy life more. Also, every now and again, I enjoy an adventure! For example, I went skydiving and jet skiing in the past few years, among other excursions.
Favorite TV Show/Movie/Book
I have a lot of favorites! Right now, I'm loving "Abbott Elementary" and some episodes of "Black Mirror." Usually, you can find me watching something either funny, thought-provoking, or creative. For books, I just finished a poetry book called "I'll Fly Away" by Rudy Francisco.
Tell Us Your Favorite Hobbies or a To-Do on Your Bucket List
Creating poetry and music are some of my first loves. I also enjoy traveling, exploring nature, and eating food from different cultures.
What brought you to the Zucker School of Medicine and the world of higher education?
The mission behind the Zucker School of Medicine and the department I work with aligned with my desire to pour into the journeys of those who are looking to make a positive difference in our collective well-being. Once I saw our values lined up, I knew working here would be a great fit for me! I've also worked in higher education before and I know how enriching the environment can be. I'm glad to be here!
