FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 protect the privacy of a student's education records. The Office of Student Finance cannot discuss a student's financial aid package, billing account or records with anyone other than the student unless consent is obtained from the student. Students may grant any person access to their records by completing a FERPA Authorization form available in the Hofstra portal
