The Zucker School of Medicine requires a narrative description of a medical student’s performance as a component of assessment in each required course and clerkship of the medical education program whenever teacher-student interaction permits this form of assessment. As such, narrative assessment is an assessment element in all core courses and the ICE clerkships in the First 100 Weeks and all core clerkships and acting internships in the Second 100 Weeks.
