2026 MATCH DAY CEREMONY
Friday, March 20, 2026
Match Day occurs on the third Friday of March each year at allopathic medical schools in the United States where the results of the National Resident Matching Program are announced.
It is an important milestone and a life-changing day for aspiring fourth year medical students nationwide revealing where they will train for the next three to seven years as new doctors.

Preparing for the Ceremony
Dress Code for Match Day ceremony is business attire: Keep in mind, you may be walking up and down the stairs during the ceremony; choose your shoes and outfits accordingly.
Please leave personal belongings with your family members or in your car. You will not be permitted to carry anything during the initial envelope part of the ceremony. Be sure to come to the main lobby stairs without coats, bags, etc.
If your photo restriction preferences have changed since Orientation, please contact the Office of Student Affairs directly.
What to expect day-of
We ask that all Class of 2026 students, please arrive at the School of Medicine no later than 11:30 AM.
A class photo of the MS4 students will be taken at 11:40 AM on the main lobby stairs, with the envelope ceremony promptly following.
Across the nation, students will open their envelopes at 12 PM ET
The ceremony will conclude at approximately 12:05 PM along with the livestream.
Privacy Rooms – Privacy rooms are available to MS4 students and their loved ones, based on prior request. Please reach out to the Office of Student Affairs for more information.
A reception for students and their guests will be held at the School of Medicine immediately following the ceremony.
A public graphic will be shared both in person and digitally with the school community.
Important Parking Instructions
DIRECTIONS TO HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY
Travel on the Long Island Expressway to Exit 38; then east on the Northern State Parkway to exit 31A; then south on the Meadowbrook Parkway to Exit M4; and then west on Hempstead Turnpike (Route 24). Continue west on Hempstead Turnpike for approximately 1.5 miles.
OR
Travel on the Southern State Parkway to Exit 22; then north on the Meadowbrook Parkway to Exit M4; and then west on Hempstead Turnpike (Route 24). Continue west on Hempstead Turnpike for approximately 1.5 miles.
DIRECTIONS TO ZUCKER SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
Turn right at the traffic light before the second pedestrian bridge, entering the North Campus of Hofstra University. Proceed to the second stop sign and turn right. Continue to the first stop sign and turn right to enter the Zucker School of Medicine driveway and parking lot. Additional parking is available in the parking lots north, west, and south of the Zucker School of Medicine building.

Parking information and ADA accommodations for guests:
- Accessible parking and ceremony seating – Your student will mention these requests in their RSVP. Public Safety Officers will direct you once you arrive at the School of Medicine. Prior to the ceremony, there will be staff members willing to assist guests to designated seating areas.

The envelope ceremony will commence at 11:45 AM and conclude at approximately 12:05 PM at the School of Medicine: 500 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549
Guests arriving at the School of Medicine are encouraged to arrive early and pack light. Arrival time starts at: 11 AM.
Seating is available in the specific designated areas. The School of Medicine does not offer a place to check bags, coats, or other personal items.
To help ensure an enjoyable experience for all, we ask that guests avoid bringing large posters, confetti makers, noise makers, personal pets (not including service animals) or similar items that could block the view of others or cause disruptions due to the venue’s limited space.
