Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255)

Staffed by local counselors, this 24/7 hotline is available as a completely anonymous and confidential resource. An online chat option is also available 24/7.

Long Island Crisis Center - Nassau County (516-679-1111)

For Nassau residents, this 24/7 crisis center offers short-term counseling and referrals for a variety of mental health concerns, including suicidal ideation. Online, phone and walk-in counseling is available. Counselors can search providers based on a client’s health insurance or low-income options.

For Suffolk residents, this 24/7 crisis center offers short-term counseling and referrals for a variety of mental health concerns, including suicidal ideation. Online, phone and walk-in counseling is available. Counselors can search providers based on a client’s health insurance or low-income options.

NYC Well (1-888-692-9355)

For residents in the five boroughs, this 24/7 crisis center offers short-term counseling and referrals for a variety of mental health concerns, including suicidal ideation. Online, phone and walk-in counseling is available. Mental Health Substance Abuse Helpline (516-227-8255)

This is a 24/7 hotline, in collaboration with the Nassau County Department of Human Services, Office of Mental Health, Chemical Dependency and Developmental Disabilities Services and Long Island Crisis Center.  It serves residents who struggle with mental illness and/or substance use disorders, providing short-term crisis intervention counseling and support.

American Addiction Centers (AAC)

AAC provides resources of the most up-to-date information about addiction, including local resources. All articles are reviewed by a medical team. A list of local rehabilitation centers can be found using rehabs.com

This local list of outdoor parks and trails is maintained by the Student Wellness Committee and Wilderness Medicine Committee to encourage physical well-being.
