The MD/MA joint degree program at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of medicine at Hofstra/Northwell is designed to provide medical students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel as physicians who participate in hospital ethics committees, legal and policy discussions, and patient advocacy. The program utilizes “case-based” learning supplemented with real-world clinical experiences to examine a broad range of contemporary and emerging issues in bioethics and prepares students for careers in and around bioethics and related fields. The program builds on the successful Certificate in Clinical Bioethics, and students who complete the certificate receive 6 credits towards the Masters program.
