Policy on Examination Review

Students are permitted to review an examination by individual appointment twice during the academic year in which the examination was administered. In addition, students may be permitted additional opportunities to review an exam during optional, proctored group review sessions and during meetings with the Director of Academic Success. Students will not be permitted to review an examination after the academic year in which it was administered has ended, as defined by the academic calendar posted on the School’s public website.

During both group and individualized exam review sessions, all personal belongings, including bags, outerwear, and electronic devices must be stored in a secure location outside of the room. Prohibited electronic devices include but are not limited to: laptops, cell/smart phones, watches, tablets, iPods, MP3 players, headphones, cameras, digital or tape recorders, and any other devices that are capable of transmitting or recording information. Food items are not permitted. Any other items identified by the Integrated Learning Team as having the potential to undermine exam security will be confiscated, or the student will be instructed to secure the item in another location. Students are permitted to bring their Hofstra ID, a sweater or sweatshirt, and a beverage.

Group Exam Review Sessions:

Students may take notes on the error analysis worksheet for process improvement purposes but may not attempt to duplicate test items in any way. The Integrated Learning Team reserves the right to spot-check error analysis worksheets to ensure that the security of the examination is not compromised.

Students are not permitted to take a break from the group exam review session.
