HOW TO APPLY

Those interested in applying to the PhD program in the Molecular Basis of Medicine at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, should create an application in our online application system.

Applicants may apply starting in September

Deadline to submit all required documents: March 1

All applicants must complete a bachelor’s degree prior to matriculation into the PhD program. While there are no requirements for completion of specific courses, competitive applicants generally have research experience.

  • One year of college biology with lab
  • Chemistry and organic chemistry
  • One year of college physics
  • English literature or equivalent, including writing

All application materials are to uploaded to the online application system.

The materials include:

  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended
  • MCAT or GRE scores, not older than three years at the time of application
  • TOEFL score, if appropriate, not older than three years at the time of application
  • Two letters of reference; at least one from a science professor or supervisor of a research project. Your references should submit their letters directly through the online application system.
  • An essay outlining research experience
