Alumni Participation

Participation also means keeping in touch! We want to make sure you are hearing from us, for alumni events as well as making connections with current students.  Please send us your contact info if you aren’t receiving communications or if you’d like to become involved with affinity groups or speaking with students. You can use our online form to update your contact info and preferences, or email updates and news to SOMAlumni@hofstra.edu.  Make sure we have your most up-to-date contact info so you can receive information about events, reunions, and our quarterly alumni e-newsletter, and don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!

Asaph Levy, MD, ’15

Dr. Asaph “Ace” Levy is the vice chairman of radiology for the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, and the medical director of the Interventional Radiology Service Line for Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health, in New Jersey.

Alexander J. Blood, MD, ’15

Dr. Alexander J. “AJ” Blood is a cardiologist and intensivist in the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he serves as the associate director of the Accelerator for Clinical Transformation research group.

Alan Gandler, MD, ’15

Dr. Alan Gandler is an assistant professor of Clinical Medicine (pulmonary, allergy, and critical care) at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and the director of the Asthma Program and Respiratory Care at Pennsylvania Hospital.

Shayna Sanguinetti, MD, ’15

Dr. Shayna Sanguinetti is the director of Headache for the Eastern Region at Northwell Health, acting chief of neurology at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital, and assistant professor of neurology for the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Dr. Sanguinetti also sees and treats patients in her offices in Port Jefferson and Bayshore.
