Policy on Remediation of Course Failures

For any course grade of Fail, students are automatically placed in Serious Academic Status and the Student Advancement Committee (SAC) will make recommendations for the student, which may include, but not be limited to, one or more of the following actions:

  1. That the student be required to register and repeat any or all courses for the entire academic year. The actual grades earned will be recorded. Both the original and the second grades will remain on the student's permanent record.
  2. That the student be required to complete any other action as deemed necessary and appropriate by the SAC. This may include, but not be limited to, evaluation by a learning specialist, participation in a skill development program(s), or medical evaluation/ treatment.
  3. That the student be dismissed.

Should an attempt at correcting a course failure be unsuccessful, the student will automatically be dismissed in any year of the curriculum.
