The PhD degree in the Molecular Basis of Medicine program of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell is designed to prepare individuals for investigative careers in disease-related, translational research. It provides PhD training to individuals with a BA or BS who wish to be trained in biomedical research. The PhD program is unique in that all laboratories participating in the program, whether focusing on basic or applied studies, have a disease focus. The goal of the PhD program at the Zucker School of Medicine is to graduate students who will continue to perform disease-related studies that will transform medical practice.
