The PhD degree in The Molecular Basis of Medicine program of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell is designed to prepare individuals for investigative careers in disease-related, translational research.
It provides PhD training to individuals with a BA or BS who wish to be trained in biomedical research. The PhD program is unique in that all laboratories participating in the program, whether focusing on basic or applied studies, have a disease focus. The goal of the PhD program at Zucker School of Medicine is to graduate students who will continue to perform disease-related studies that will transform medical practice.
Students in the MD/PhD program can complete the PhD portion of their degree at either Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research or Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Students in the PhD program may complete their dissertation only at Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research.
